Camellia sasanqua ‘LA Rouge’ (LA Rouge Camellia) is a compact evergreen shrub that brings vibrant colour to the garden when many other plants have finished blooming. From late fall into early winter, it produces an abundance of rich red semi-double flowers accented by bright yellow stamens, creating a striking display against glossy green foliage. Reaching just 4–5 feet tall and wide, this smaller camellia is ideal for foundation plantings, mixed borders, flowering hedges, containers, and accent gardens. Heat, humidity, and deer resistant, LA Rouge thrives in partial shade with well-drained soil and requires very little maintenance once established. Its long-lasting blooms are also excellent for fresh floral arrangements, adding beauty both indoors and out.
